The Where's Waldo of BushCo.There isn't a pink
bubble big enough to
protect W. from the
truth. Why BushCo? Answer: The "Co." is short for "The
Company," slang for the CIA,
which was documented running
drugs during the Vietnam
War while U.S. soldiers and the Vietnamese
people suffered
on the sidelines, profiting
from death and misery just like W.'s grandaddy, Prescott
Bush, during World War II.
Forward: Spanish philosopher George Santayana reminds us in his famous quote: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. How well do people recall recent history? The Department of Historical Amnesia suggested this comic recap of Operation Iraqi Freedom. As with nearly every new invention and advance in technology and popular social movement, the USA's Department of Defense never misses an opportunity to abuse such advances in human culture to invent new weapons and forms of social control. Here, we highlight the Pentagon's ripoff of the labor of love known as Critical Mass, the popular community bicycle ride that exists in over 400 cities across the planet. But don't take our word for it...a BikeSummer! fan sent us this video clip explaining the RAND Corporation/Pentagram mentality. Who or what is RAND Corp.? The RAND Corporation is a nonprofit global policy think tank first formed to offer research and analysis to the United States armed forces. In other words, a nonprofit helping the military and its contractors profit from death and destruction. Charming. Instead of expanding military spending, how about downsizing instead? Not 1 More Acre for military madness! No more blood for oil. DOD Steals the Thunder from SF's Critical Mass Community Bicycle Ride Operation
Dark Claw Believe your own eyes yet? Background Reading: The
CIA's Abuse of Social Controls 2/27/07 Remembering the first victims of Rand Corp.'s critical crackdown who paid with their lives: Casey Moe, bicycle messenger, killed and covered up by the SFPD. Please visit this link to support the loved ones he left behind. Chris Robertson, bicycle messenger, killed by a road raging truck driver in front of dozens of witnesses. Despite this, the bias induced by local media's skewed coverage of Critical Mass helped skew the jury's view of cyclists, and the truck driver was found "not guilty." His sister Lauren maintains this tribute to her beautiful brother. The San Francisco bicycle community still awaits an apology from all those "reporters" who assisted RAND Corp. in bashing and trashing our community bicycle ride. A big hat tip to "PEACE NOW!"
for connecting-the-dots in this
post at Portland Indymedia. Excerpt from the Portland Indy comment (edited here for clarity): "...it was a complete accident that the pre-ride staging at the June 1998 SF Critical Mass bicycle ride loosely resembled Iwo Jima. It may also have been an accident that the hoisting of the flag over the WTC ruins looked similar. What is NOT an accident is the fact that the photo of the firefighters amongst the 9/11 tragedy has been exploited by BushCo as motivation for its wars, and that is reprehensible and disgusting. PEACE NOW believes that the following YouTube presentation (3/10/07 Note: censored by someone. Has anyone seen our freedom of speech that our soldiers are supposedly dying for? Grow some cojones YouTube. Grrrrrr...) makes a provable case for controlled demolition, with far more supporting evidence than BushCo has provided backing the government's official conspiracy theory. Please see the pictures and video, and make up your own mind."
And here's another. And yet another. Yes, that's pretty much how the July 1998 ride began in San Francisco. Also worth reading is this Indybay article. A huge thanks to Indybay.org, which has been there for Critical Mass and Bay Area activists for years now. Never forget all this messing with the mass began under Saint Clinton, to avoid the sideshow known as the lesser of two evils. And we salute Counterpunch for their years of dedication to exposing the truth, no matter how unpleasant it may be.
While CNN beats the drums for war on Iran, lying to you like CNN can, it tipped us off to a different explosion: the Duke Power building, North Carolina implosion. Watch WCNC's description of the demolition, and the takedown of Duke Power: you can hear for yourself the cutting charges as the building is pulled. It's Deja Vu all over again: please teach your children well, and end our nuclear hell. What makes our "leaders" so insane that they consider war a game? The message of the scifi movie WarGames is simple: "the only winning move is NOT TO PLAY." Breaking...Signs BushCo. Is Imploding... Happy Spring! 3/21/07
Sadly, some people will cling to their denial, no matter how much evidence is in front of them. May these links open the eyes of those who will not see. BushCo.'s #1 mistake? A house built on lies cannot stand forever. Over and over, hollow claims that 9/11 justifies everything: sorry chimpy, but you should know this: A slogan, exhausted, should never be repeated! Interestingly enough, most people do not know that the chimpanzee "grin" so often seen in movies and on TV is actually a grimace of fear or a carefully choreographed response to a command.
OK, OK, time for apologies: seriously, the comparison is insulting...to chimpanzees. Why?

Disclaimer: our referee uses the ORIGINAL "Fun Meter," not those dumb meters the military uses to make murder a joke. Is there anything creative and fun the killers won't steal from someone? In answer to that rhetorical question, we provide this link to the to the unspun music of the band Clan Dyken. These brilliant musicians sing truth-to-power from the heart; their tireless efforts for peace, harmony, and justice is an inspiration of hope for the future. They will be performing live this March 3rd in Santa Cruz to bring the troops home NOW. The Clan had agreed to play BikeSummer! '99, but efforts to secure a performance space in SF were quietly scuttled. This year, let's can RAND, and not the band. It doesn't matter that it's winter: start pedaling for summer today! |

Peaceful alternatives to RAND Corp. and the Pentagon's Dark Claw Many firefighters and EMS personnel lost their lives trying to save people during the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and a growing number of their families are demanding the truth. Many more risk their lives every summer during fire season in the last remaining forests in North America and elsewhere. Unpredictable weather conditions can lead to firestorms that threaten firefighters working to save lives and communities. Mountain bikes could be used as a last resort to escape such flareups, and make firefighters more mobile when defending forests from such threats. Ironically, the blowhards at RAND Corp. employ a twisted calculus muddling the crisis of global warming, by placing corporate profits before sound science. The thousands who lay dead from hurricane Katrina in New Orleans would probably disagree with RAND's priorities. The hundreds of thousands who lay dead: Iraqis, Kurds, Turks, US armed forces, to name a few, can trace their misfortune back to plain old greed, and money-hungry contractors like Halliburton, Blackwater USA, and RAND's lies about depleted uranium. Here's a funnier jab at Georgie Porgie's gibberish. Global warming is affecting the 4 corners of the planet. Bicycles have a place in future transit, lest our coastal cities drown under seven meters of seawater.
This war on the native peoples of the Middle East and their differing spirituality is eerily similar to the war on Native Americans. Does anyone recall Wounded Knee? Or has that slice of history gone down the memory hole, along with all the other evidence of U.S government complicity in the 9/11 attacks? Native American Ward Churchill is being persecuted to this day for speaking the uncomfortable truth about US imperialism and war. Ward Churchill knew on 9/12/01 what Willie Brown knew before 9/11/01: that the corrupt elite knew in advance that an attack on the U.S. was imminent. Activists everywhere should familiarize themselves with his revealing book The COINTELPRO Papers, which exposes the FBI's disregard for our freedoms whenever they conflict with buying more stuff. Useful tips for activists everywhere: How To Spot An Infiltrator: telltale signs
What have the government's computer libraries of data done for your community? A simple tool lending library serves people better than the hundreds of billions of dollars spent spying on every citizen.
Operation Bend Over America: Lies from both corporate parties are turning the Middle East into one giant sausage factory. Where will the planet find a true Superhero with the cojones to bust some balls in DC, and reclaim Critical Mass from the dark side? Now is the time to stand up and speak out, especially all the left gatekeepers out there. Even the insightful but prudent Noam Chomsky, who has worked tirelessly to reveal corporate media's bias, has finally signed the 9/11 truth petition this Valentine's Day. Wake up all you former hippies-gone-yuppies: there will be no grateful dead if the nukes go off. The world will be saved, if it can be, only by the
unsubmissive - Andre Gide Sam Smith, advocate of bicycle and mass transit for 40 years, ponders the question: "I've been trying to figure out how to pass on state secrets to someone without getting into trouble." Unless you're Dr. Strangelove or Dr. Strangefeld (picture), if you hold state secrets that might stop a global nuclear holocaust, remember: our children are our future. "In every deliberation we must consider the impact on the seventh generation...
At the Heartwood Institute for learning and healing, nestled under northern California's ancient redwoods, a woman who doubts the wisdom of her words was taught that we should love the parts of out bodies that we hate. If you truly desire peace, then a similar ethic must be embraced: love the parts of the world you hate. There are three peace symbols which share universal recognition: the dove and the olive branch, the CND peace symbol for nuclear disarmament, and the Peace Rainbow Flag. Without uttering a word, peace advocates can proudly display them all. May we all be around the first day of spring to hear the Japanese Peace Bell's lovely ring. Peace
