BikeSummer! 2007 Committees

Phoenix is key to the ad-hoc committee
The first to peek out of his closet
There are more from before, and after him too
One is a Muslim and one is a Jew

Phoenix is black
Some think he's sephardi
Undoubtedly buddhist
Slow, thoughtful, and nudist

His one humble request
For the BikeSummer! staff:
Just a few laptops
Is all that he asks...

No junkers,
Please
Thank you
Just newer computers

We'll use those we can
And never for profit
Any extras will be given
Away to poor children

PLEASE do not send any donations if you are not financially well-off: we encourage you to invest your time and hard earned money in your local community instead — think globally ~ act locally.

If you or your company has any extra used laptop computers in good working order, nothing broken, consider helping us out at BikeSummer!, by mailing them to:

Addendum: if you like our peace work, and want to support us but do not have a computer or laptop to spare, we do accept contributions to help defray expenses for our dedicated web server and monthly bandwidth. BikeSummer! has never made a penny from any of our celebrations, though some donations have gone back into the communities that host BikeSummer! festivals. If you are flush with ca$h, and have some to spare, when you are done sparing the air, we are accepting cashier's checks and money orders ONLY made out to cash: personal checks will not be cashed or returned to save postage and energy.

At the moment, any additional funds we may receive beyond our operating expenses will all go to the local animal shelter, which is in need of reform.* Spaying or neutering your animal companion helps keep unwanted puppies from a trip to the gas chamber, and California's new anti-tether law is a model for humane treatment of animals, and even human beings held prisoner without trial at (Warning: the following link contains graphic, disturbing photos courtesy of Bush and Cheney) Abu Ghraib prison and Guantanamo Bay. One last note: cars heat up in the sun and can be lethal to your pet, just like the Earth is overheating from global warming: it's up to you to help out and speak up, if you see an animal left alone inside a vehicle on a sunny day.

Thank you!

Love, BikeSummer!
